Kochi, 14 October, 2023: Muthoot Finance Ltd., India’s leading gold loan NBFC felicitated 122 deserving students with Muthoot M George Excellence Awards 2023 to motivate and inspire their academia journey. As part of this initiative, students from 8 th and 9 th grades across 61 Government schools in Ernakulam district were awarded a cash prize worth Rs. 3000 per head along with memento on 14 th October 2023 at 10.30 am.

The event was graced by Chief Guest – Shri Hibi Eden, MP of Ernakulam and Shri. George Alexander Muthoot, Managing Director, Muthoot Finance presided over the ceremony. Muthoot M George Excellence Awards is a CSR initiative by Muthoot Finance to provide inspiration to school students to continue their education seamlessly. Under the Muthoot M George Excellence Awards initiative, Muthoot Finance has disbursed a total spend of Rs. 2 crores over the past 10 years. The initiative was launched in 2010 to uplift and support meritorious students from economically backward sections and provide them equal access to education. In this academic year, Muthoot Finance is further planning to benefit a total of 1053 students across cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Madurai, Mangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Kottayam, and Alleppey apart from Ernakulam under this CSR initiative. For the same, the company has earmarked a budget of Rs. 31,59,000 for the academic year 2023-24.
